IN CASE OF A DAMAGE

Exploring Norway with one of our camper vans should stay in your memories as an amazing time and adventure. But of course, unfortunate things can happen. No matter if it´s your fault or somebody else caused damage – everybody involved just hopes that would have never happened. But it does. So, let´s face it and handle it. Here is how we are dealing with the damage documentation before your rental, damage assessment, and your self-risk fee.

1. Always book the right insurance for you

You can always upgrade the type of insurance before the pick-up of your van.

2. Acknowledge existing damages

When you pick up the camper van, all damages are already documented. We also took pictures of the damages, so feel free to do so yourself. By signing the rental agreement you confirm the state and condition of your camper van before hire.

3.  Return of the campervan

If you return the camper van in the agreed conditions, we will release your deposit  10 days from the return of your campervan

In case of damage

In the event of the vehicle being involved in an accident (either single or two or more vehicles involved) where damage is done to either Fjord Campers vehicle, any other vehicle involved in the accident, or any person is injured, the lessee or co-hirers must contact Fjord Campers immediately.
A Fjord Campers insurance form supplied by Fjord Campers must be filled in completely and accurately, with detailed diagrams, descriptions of the accident, and complete details from all parties involved in the accident, signed, dated, and forwarded to Fjord Campers immediately. If the lessee or co-hirers does not adhere to the above Terms and Conditions all insurance will be canceled and the full amount of all repair costs and damages including lost revenue or medical expenses, refunds due to lost time for future customers, and accommodation fees required will be forwarded to the guest.
Towing and retrieval of damaged vehicles to the closest Fjord Campers approved location is covered. In the event of an accident resulting in the vehicle being damaged sufficiently to require replacement, it is the lessee’s responsibility to make their way to the closest Fjord Campers-approved location that has a replacement vehicle available. Any expenses incurred whilst traveling to the closest Fjord Campers-approved location that has a replacement campervan or motorhome available are the guest’s responsibility.

Damage assessment

The reparation costs of the damage to the camper will be estimated by the insurance-certified car workshop. We will send you an invoice for your campervan booking including your costs for reparation of the damage you have caused. It will not be more than the chosen self-risk fee of your insurance type if the Rental Agreement and its Terms and Conditions have not been breached. Your deposit will be used to cover these costs.

 Good to be aware!

On your camper trip, you might encounter very windy weather. These strong winds are often causing wind damage to cars. When you are opening the camper door in windy conditions hold on to the door, so it does not get slammed by the wind. This is damage we experience very often.
