INSURANCE OPTIONS
Insurance can be tricky, which is why we want to make it simple and easy to understand. You are able to upgrade the type of protection at any time, up to the day you pick up your van.
PLEASE NOTE no insurance covers damages to wind-blown doors, water damages, and damages on the chassis of the vehicle!
Basic Protection – included

What is Basic Protection?
It is our standard protection option included free of charge with your rental. It is not insurance. Rather, it’s a contract directly with Fjord Campers, in which we agree not to hold you liable for collision damages to the rented van beyond a 20 000 NOK deductible. We will charge you a deposit payment of 20 000 NOK when you pick up the camper van at our rental station. In case of damage or use of roadside assistance, we will use this deposit to pay your self-risk fee.
What does it not cover?
Basic protection does not cover damage where the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions have been violated. Damage to the campervan where the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement are violated will forfeit any coverage that the Basic protection provides. Losses caused by forces outside of a collision (such as vandalism or theft) are not covered. For a complete list of exclusions, please see the Fjord Campers Rental Agreement.
Premium Protection (optional)

What is Premium Protection?
This protection option is optional and can be added to your camper van booking at any time before pick-up of the van. You will have a self-risk fee of 7 500 NOK per incident. With the SCDW you will also have 24/7 roadside assistance free of charge. If you have chosen this type of protection we will take a deposit payment of 7 500 NOK during your pick-up of the campervan. In case of damage, we will use this deposit to pay your self-risk fee.
What does it not cover?
It does not cover any damage where the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions have been violated.
